4·3 Historic Site ‘Gon-eul-dong Lost Village’

Do you know about dark tourism? Dark tourism refers to a trip to learn lessons by visiting tragic historical sites such as wars, massacres, or places where great disasters and calamities occurred. I visited ‘Goneul-dong Lost Village,’ one of Jeju’s dark tourism sites. Goneul-dong is a lost village that was burnt to the ground by soldiers in 1949 and never recovered. The name comes from the meaning of a land filled with water, but now only empty houses and Olle remain as reminders of the past.
