Hallasan: 1950m

#summervacay Hallasan doesn’t play around. Hiking up to Baengnokdam crater at 1,950m felt like a never-ending leg day with bonus altitude. I started out all chipper, trail was nice, vibe was good. But oh man, it gets real fast. Long, steep, rocky, and just when you think you're close? Nope, more stairs. But then… you hit the top. Baengnokdam crater. Absolute silence. Sky so wide it feels fake. Clouds drifting right next to you. And this giant ancient crater that just sits there like, “Yeah, I’ve been here for centuries, what’s up?” It’s peaceful, surreal, and totally worth the pain. I sat down, completely wiped out, and just stared for a good 20 minutes. Snacks hit harder up there too. If you're thinking about it, do it. It’s tough, but it’s one of those hikes you’ll remember forever. Just pack layers, bring way more water than you think, and prepare for your quads to cry a little.
