The sheer scale of the place is impressive, truly transporting you back in time to an era before the "forest of apartments" dominated the landscape. You can even see a beautiful hanok adorned with fragrant wood roses (mokhyang jangmi) on a traditional alley wall, just as it would have been in the past. What sets Jeonju Nanjang apart is that it's not just for looking. Throughout the viewing path, there are various spots offering hands-on experiences. For instance, you can try making dalgona (honeycomb candy) at "Yaksok Dabang" (Promise Cafe) for a fee. As a complimentary treat, you can also savor warm potatoes and sweet potatoes freshly roasted from an old-fashioned roaster, or enjoy chewy jjondeugi (a type of chewy candy) grilled over a wood fire. This immersive experience allows both older generations to feel a strong sense of nostalgia and younger generations to enjoy a truly special and unique cultural encounter.
