Amman, the capital of Jordan

🇯🇴-3 Today we will be staying in #Amman ( #Amman ), the capital of Jordan, for the last night, which can be regarded as a temporary pause for this journey. About 48 kilometers north of Amman, there is a city called #Jerash, known as the "Pompeii of the Middle East", and is one of the best-preserved ancient Roman cities in Jordan. It is also a historic site that I will visit briefly before heading to Amman. There is a saying to describe Jerash as "Rome Away from Rome", which means that Jerash is one of the largest and best-preserved ancient Roman cities outside of Italy. Jerash's golden age was during the Roman Empire, when it was one of the ten largest cities of the time, until its gradual decline during the Persian invasion in the seventh century AD. But after this trip, I felt that it was amazing that the architectural level at that time could have such a complete city planning, and the symmetrical and magnificent theaters, temples and streets were all amazing. Since I was really into the video game Assassin’s Creed Odyssey a while ago, I was so happy to be here. Because along the way there are the Temple of Artemis, the Nymphneum, and the South Theater. And it is in these familiar places that I hunt for enemy heads! The last stop was back to Amman. There are also two ruins in the city center of Amman, namely the Amman Citadel and the Roman Theatre at the foot of the mountain. There are many ruins in the Castle Hill, and archaeological excavations have also discovered a large number of Roman, Byzantine and early Islamic relics. Among them, the Temple of Hercules built by the Roman Empire in the 2nd century AD is the tallest. Although the temple is no longer visible, the Roman ruins against the blue sky and white clouds give us an idea of how majestic it was at that time. In addition, in the seventh century, Amman became the capital of the Arab dynasty, so the Emir Palace facing west and east was built on the Castle Hill. The semicircular roof makes it clear at a glance that it is closely related to Islamic culture. The Roman theater, located at the foot of the Amman Citadel, was built in the 2nd century. The amphitheater was built against the mountain and can accommodate about 6,000 spectators. Adopting the techniques of ancient Roman theater construction, the sound from the stage can be clearly transmitted no matter where you sit in the theater. In terms of overall size, it is much larger than the South Theater in Jerash. I followed the local residents and sat down in a shady place, feeling the breeze and listening to the incomprehensible whispers of lovers. At this moment, I temporarily put aside the confusion and sadness in my heart. At this moment, I just wanted to enjoy this moment.
