😄 Without the crowds of Nanhu Lake and Yuehe Street, I discovered a different niche travel route in Jiaxing. The vacation vibe is 💯. Enjoy playing in the hotel pool, explore the ancient and niche ancient town, and experience the super chill water bus. The kids had so much fun. Jiaxing, why don't you promote such a great place! It's only a 1-hour drive from downtown Shanghai, a real treasure destination ❤️ ✅ The hotel has a great vacation vibe, and the indoor landscape pool is not crowded 💯 ✅ The ancient temple and ginkgo trees are thousands of years old, and they are super photogenic at all times of the day 💯 ✅ Experience the water bus, with few people and beautiful scenery 💯 Day 1️⃣ - Have brunch and set off. Check in to the DoubleTree by Hilton Jiaxing at 11:30am, and play in the hotel pool from 12–1:30pm after check-in. - Depart for Xincheng Ancient Town at around 3:30pm, visit the millennium ginkgo trees in Xiaopenglai Park and the millennium ancient temple Nengren Temple, and taste Xincheng's special delicacies. - Depart for Nanhu Tiandi at 6pm, about half an hour's drive. Stroll around the beautiful scenery of Nanhu Lake, and have dinner in Tiandi around 8pm. ⚠️ The cookies given upon check-in at DoubleTree are delicious! Personally, I feel that this Hilton is less crowded than the one in Fengxian. The decoration is a bit old, but it has a better vacation vibe. ⚠️ Xincheng Ancient Town is niche and not crowded. Nengren Temple and Xiaopenglai are worth visiting. Admission is free. Xincheng is full of local life. If you want to experience the past, this is the place to be. ⚠️ There are many choices of food in Xincheng, but many stores close early, so remember to check the time. Day 2️⃣ - After breakfast at the hotel, you can take the water bus directly from the hotel pier. There are 4 trips a day. Just arrive at the pier 10 minutes in advance to buy tickets and board the boat! The route is Hilton - Xincheng Ancient Town. ⌚ Departure times from DoubleTree by Hilton Pier: 8:50am, 1:30pm ⌚ Departure times from Xincheng Pier: 10:50am, 3:30pm - The kids were reluctant to get up, so we chose the 10:50am route back from Xincheng. Drive or take a taxi from the hotel to Xincheng Town at 10am, which takes 20 minutes. We also bought the meat mooncakes that we didn't get the day before. Boarded the boat at 10:45am. Adult tickets are CNY 10, and children under 1.2m are free. The boat ride is 1 hour, and the scenery on the river is beautiful and super photogenic. - The boat arrived at the hotel pier at about 12pm, and we checked out and returned home at noon. ⚠️ If time permits in the afternoon, you can continue to play in the hotel pool (apply for a late check-out), or experience the Jiaxing tram, Catholic Church, etc. 😃 Tips: - Nengren Temple and Xiaopenglai are almost empty on Saturday afternoons!! Highly recommended to visit. - This DoubleTree is quite easy to book. We booked 2 days in advance. Although it was fully booked on Saturday, the pool and breakfast experience was much better than the weekend experience at Hilton Fengxian. - No reservation is required for the water bus. Just buy your ticket and board the boat at the pier 10 minutes in advance.
