Jieyang Ancient City | A niche and less popular ancient city

Jieyang, the location of Chaoshan Airport, is not as popular as Shantou and Chaozhou. We arranged a half-day itinerary this time. There were not many tourists in the ancient city, possibly also because it was a weekday. Compared to the ancient cities of Shantou and Chaozhou, Jieyang Ancient City still maintains its original ecology. The arcade buildings and shop signs can still faintly reveal the prosperity of the past. Now, many signs are worn out, and many shops are closed. There are still families living in the ancient city, as well as some tea shops and stores selling the three treasures of Chaoshan that are open for business. On the arcade street, we also saw a matchmaking corner, which adds a touch of liveliness to the ancient city. 🏘️ In the ancient city, there are places to visit such as the Jieyang Academy, the City God Temple, the Thunder God Temple, and the Shuangfeng Temple, all of which are very popular. 📍 Please note, the Jieyang Academy is open from 9:00 to 11:45 in the morning and from 14:30 to 17:30 in the afternoon, with a long break at noon. Please plan your visit accordingly. From these opening hours, one can glimpse the relaxed pace of local life.
