The plane landed at Xishuangbanna Gasa International Airport, and the hot and humid wind blew in our faces, bringing with it the unique scent of the tropical rainforest. The destination of my trip is the Siwa Oasis Resort, hidden deep in the rainforest. The hotel is about an hour’s drive from the airport, passing through lush tropical scenery along the way. At night, lying on the lounge chair in the atrium, listening to the chirping of insects and frogs, looking at the starry sky, all the worries disappear. I stayed in the Rainforest Pool Villa, which was spacious and decorated in a simple and natural style. What surprised me most was the private swimming pool in the room, which was surrounded by lush tropical plants and had excellent privacy. In the morning, wake up to the sound of birds singing, jump into the swimming pool for a refreshing swim, and start a day full of energy. The terrace of the room faces the rainforest. Sitting on the terrace, making a cup of Pu'er tea, watching the mist rising from the rainforest, and listening to the rustling of leaves in the wind, it seems as if time has stood still. The hotel's restaurant offers Chinese and Western buffets as well as Dai specialities. I tried the local specialties such as grilled fish with lemongrass, pineapple rice, pounded chicken feet, etc. They were delicious and unforgettable. You can choose to have breakfast in the restaurant or choose a floating breakfast. I chose the latter. The waiter brought a sumptuous breakfast to the swimming pool in the room. I enjoyed the food while appreciating the beautiful scenery of the rainforest. It was a unique experience. The hotel is equipped with complete leisure and entertainment facilities, including a gym, yoga room, spa center, etc. I experienced the hotel's SPA. The technicians were professional and the essential oils they used were extracted from local plants, which made me relax physically and mentally. The hotel also offers a variety of activities, such as rainforest hiking, Dai cultural experience, handicrafts, etc. I participated in a rainforest hiking activity. Under the guidance of a guide, I went deep into the heart of the rainforest and felt the wonders of nature. There are many attractions around the hotel, and it is close to the Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Wild Elephant Valley, the Dai Garden and other attractions. I rented a bicycle and rode on the country roads to experience the local customs and culture.
