Walking in Jiujiang.

Jiujiang City is located in the northwest of Jiangxi Province, with the Yangtze River to the north, Mount Lushan to the south, and the mouth of Poyang Lake. It has always been a transportation hub and a land of abundance, and is known as the "mouth of three rivers and thoroughfare of seven provinces." It is also a pleasure to stroll through the streets of Jiujiang and along the Yangtze River, looking for the historical traces and cultural codes of this city. "I see off my guests at the bank of Xunyang River at night, while the maple leaves and reeds rustle in the autumn", Bai Juyi's famous poem "Pipa Song" has left a deep mark on Jiujiang. The double-eaved Pipa Pavilion stands on the south bank of the Yangtze River. In front of the pavilion is a statue of Bai Juyi. The stele galleries on the left and right sides are engraved with poems and essays by many literati and poets paying tribute to the Pipa Pavilion. Going around the back of the pavilion, you can see cars coming and going on the Jiujiang Yangtze River Bridge, and Huangmei County, Hubei Province on the opposite bank is clearly visible. "We are both people who have fallen into this world, so why should we have known each other before we met?" Perhaps at some moment, passers-by will feel like a weary bird longing for home. Continuing westward along the shore, Suojiang Tower and Xunyang Tower are not far apart, both are good places to climb the towers and enjoy the river view. Today's Xunyang Tower focuses on Water Margin culture. Tickets are 20 yuan. People are familiar with the stories of Song Jiang writing anti-government poems and Li Kui robbing the execution ground. They are performed here in the form of pottery sculptures and murals. There are also storytelling, face changing, calligraphy and painting performances on the first floor. Climbing up to the top floor, you can see lush water plants, a broad river, and buildings on the north bank clearly. It is truly a sight to behold the vast Chu sky. Continue westward and you will arrive at Dazhong Road Pedestrian Street. The architectural style, commercial brands and business models here are similar to those of first- and second-tier cities at the beginning of the century. The evening breeze blows in from the river, gently caressing people's faces. Perhaps time has stayed here for a long time. At the end of Dazhong Road are some historical buildings of Jiujiang Concession, such as the former site of the British Concession, the former site of the Japanese Consulate Apartment, and the Mobil Trading Company.
