The Reference, a hidden art bookstore in the quiet Seochon

๐Ÿ“44 Jahamun-ro 24-gil, Jongno-gu, Seoul ๐Ÿ“Everyday 11:00-19:00 (Closed on Mondays) Seochon offers a quiet and romantic atmosphere on a quiet and clear day. It is a neighborhood where you can have fun finding hidden spaces here and there. The place I found was a bookstore called 'The Reference'. In addition to the exhibition, they hold programs such as book talks and workshops, and inside the bookstore, you can find art books and independent publications that are usually hard to come by. The basement and the first floor are galleries, and the second floor is the bookstore. The interior of the exhibition hall is all in white tones, and it is neatly organized to the point of being empty. A few people were sitting and quietly reading books in the bookstore, so unfortunately I couldn't take pictures. The types of books and the size of the space are not that large. And it is so quiet that even the sound of breathing seems loud. The silence may be uncomfortable, but if you feel that silence and look at the books that are curated and then look at the richly decorated spaces, the feeling is indescribable. Art books, photo books, design books, etc. make up the majority. If your major or interest is related to this, it is a small and precious space that I really recommend. #SeoulTravel #SoloTravel #Exhibition #Seochon #TheReference #Bookstore #ShopOtour
