[Kanagawa Prefecture/Gokurakuji Temple] A temple led by an elegant mountain gate

It is a 2-minute walk from Gokurakuji Station on the Enoshima Electric Railway. The temple was founded by Ryokanbo Ninsho. The founder was Hojo Shigetoki, the third son of Hojo Yoshitoki. The founder was the first chief priest who developed the site for the temple's construction. The founder was the person who provided the funds for its construction. The connection with the Hojo family is apparent. The temple was once vast, but now only the mountain gate and main hall remain. The grounds are filled with double-petaled and single-petaled cherry trees planted by Hojo Tokimune. It is said that there is a mixture of double-petaled and single-petaled trees on one branch.
