During a road trip through Shikoku, we made a relaxed stop at Kamiita Service Area (Westbound)—and it turned out to be more than just a pit stop. The amenities were spot on: clean restrooms, easy-to-use vending machines, and a variety of food stalls offering everything from hot ramen to local snacks and fresh drinks. We grabbed a quick snack, stretching our legs in the designated rest zone which had benches facing the highway—a surprisingly pleasant view. What stood out was the offerings of local specialties, like yuzu-flavored sweets and freshly squeezed fruit juices. It gave us a taste of the region even in a brief stop. Parking was spacious and well-marked, and the entire area felt organized and welcoming—perfect for families and tired travelers. All in all, Kamiita Service Area (Westbound) provided a comfortable, efficient, and slightly more interesting stop on our journey.
