【Greenland】Icefield Hiking: Starting from South Stromfjord, Return to the Source of Life

I have two major expectations for this trip to Greenland. One is to see the glaciers mentioned last time, and the other is to hike on the ice field. Currently, there are only two places in the world that still have ice sheets: Antarctica and Greenland. Although the Greenland Ice Sheet covers an area smaller than Antarctica, it is more fragile, probably because Greenland is much farther from the pole than the Antarctic ice sheet and is therefore melting much faster. This icefield hike starts from Kangerlussuaq, a small town in Greenland with only about 500 people living there, and you can enjoy the beautiful scenery of the icefield. I finally understood why Greenland is white on the map. After walking for a whole day, there was really only white in front of me. There are icebergs on the left and an ice lake on the right. Under the warm Arctic sunshine, the ice lake under your feet occasionally melts into water, and you can just squat down and take a sip to drink. Perhaps this is what it means to return to the source of life.
