Kagoshima/Kirishima Onamiike⛰️ Japan's highest crater lake "1241m" [July 2024] This is a crater lake with groundwater accumulating in a 1km diameter crater that was created by an eruption 50,000 years ago! ! You can climb from the trailhead in about 30 minutes. The path is well maintained, so you can climb without difficulty if you're not wearing sandals or heels, but you may need some physical strength. Even though I exercise 2-3 days a week, it was quite hard if I tried to climb without taking a break🏃It was summer, so I was sweating profusely💦But the hiking trail was a good way to feel nature🌲 When you reach the summit, the view is truly spectacular✨✨ It was interesting to watch the surrounding mountains and lakes change their appearance as the clouds move and the sun shines on them. For those who don't like mountain climbing but want to try climbing a mountain, I recommend Onamiike Pond, which is 1,411m above sea level but is easy to get to. It takes about an hour round trip just to see this view, but it takes another 1.5 to 2 hours to go around the lake.
