If you like Japanese architecture, this is the place to go!

A 10-minute walk from Shin-Kobe Station on the Shinkansen line This is a spot where you can learn about traditional Japanese architecture. This is a museum run by Takenaka Corporation, which handled the major Heisei repairs of Toshodaiji Temple in Nara Prefecture. There are exhibits of Japanese architectural designs and traditional Japanese carpentry (construction) tools, and you can touch very thin wood chips shaved with these tools. They are so thin you can see through them. You can also see the bamboo framework of the teahouse. The museum building is also modern, and in early summer you can enjoy the beautiful green maples. It's so quiet that you forget you're in the middle of a city. The tour takes about an hour. #TravelingWithMe
