#November2024 The Floating Mosque of Kota Kinabalu, also known as the Kota Kinabalu Municipal Mosque, is definitely one of the top three must-see attractions in Kota Kinabalu. The mosque is about 6 kilometers away from the center of Kota Kinabalu, and the drive takes about 15 minutes. It is recommended to take a taxi or use the Grab taxi app, which is the most convenient and quickest way to get there. If you want to try public transportation, you can also take bus number 6 from the Bandaran bus stop in front of Shangri-La Hotel. The journey takes about 20 minutes. However, taking the bus may require some waiting time and transfers, which is not as direct as taking a taxi or Grab. After arriving at the mosque, you will find a beautiful artificial lake next to it, which is a great place to take photos. Especially at sunset, the afterglow of the setting sun shines on the lake, complementing the reflection of the mosque.
