Arriving in Kuala Lumpur after 10pm, we were hungry and in search of a no-fuss local bite. We found ourselves at Q Bistro in Bangsar, a popular mamak-style restaurant that was still buzzing with late-night diners. The air-conditioned dining area was packed, which speaks to the place’s popularity. Thankfully, there’s also a spacious alfresco section, but like most people, I opted for the indoor seating to escape the heat and humidity. I went with a classic mamak combo: 🍛 Nasi lemak with chicken rendang 🥚 Telur dadar (omelette) ☕ Teh tarik The nasi lemak rice wasn’t as aromatic as I had hoped—it lacked that rich coconut fragrance that makes the dish shine. However, the chicken rendang made up for it, offering deep, flavorful spices and tender meat. The ikan bilis and peanuts were a bit on the stingy side in portion. That said, it was still a solid, satisfying meal, especially given the hour.
