Located in Kunigami Village, the northernmost point of Okinawa Island, [Yanbaru National Park Daisekirinzan] Daisekirinzan is the world's northernmost tropical karst topography, formed over a long period of time by erosion of 250 million year old limestone by rainwater and other factors. It is also designated as a "quasi-national park" by Okinawa Prefecture, and is a spot rich in nature. The entrance fee is 1200 yen for adults (15 years old and over). There are several trekking courses, so it's best to choose a course according to your time and physical strength. We walked on the "Churaumi Observatory Course". We were able to feel the greatness of nature everywhere while breathing in the fresh Yanbaru air, and it was a very enjoyable walk. It is recommended as it is a course that allows you to see famous spots! If you have energy left on the way back, be sure to take the "Gajumaru Forest Course". You can enjoy plenty of negative ions as it is filled with giant banyan trees, one of the largest in Japan, and subtropical trees.
