Even without thunder, one should avoid it, the Crowne Plaza Kunming City Centre

After moving from the shores of Dian Lake to the city center, I settled at the Crowne Plaza Kunming City Centre. The unique atmosphere of life in the old town is fascinating. As soon as I entered the lobby, I felt a sense of déjà vu; it was crowded and noisy with people coming and going, reminiscent of the old-fashioned hotel wedding scenes that were popular more than a decade ago. According to the floor plan, the hotel is located at the corner where a natural waterway intersects with the street, so the building's orientation is a slender right-angled fan shape. The rooms on the riverside have gradually expanding scenic balconies, and I was arranged in one of these rooms on the 15th floor. However, contrary to my expectations, the window faced a building under renovation, with no aesthetic appeal and the view was completely blocked. Although overlooking the river, I felt disappointed. Fortunately, the darkness of night swallowed everything, leaving only the neon lights flickering, which was much more beautiful. Apart from the special balcony, the room has a standard double layout, with an old-fashioned overall decoration style, but well-maintained. The bathroom design is out of step with the times; the current trend is to place the bathtub inside a glass partition, with the shower and toilet mounted against the wall, but here it is completely reversed. The executive lounge is on the third floor, and the happy hour in the evening is quite popular, although the offerings are somewhat lackluster. The scale of the breakfast the next day is not large, which is a stark contrast to the bustling noise in the lobby at noon; it is recommended to arrive early or late. The meals have a strong local flavor, and among the fruit slices, there are fresh figs, which are rare elsewhere. The service level urgently needs to be improved. Whether in the lobby or the lounge, the reception staff all look flustered, like interns, and communication is not smooth. In the end, I finally managed to grab a train ticket, and my Spring Festival trip to Yunnan came to an end. After staying in six hotels with different styles, this Crowne Plaza was the least impressive.
