Huiju Temple

Huiju Temple was originally located in Ma'anshan (Yufeng Mountain) in Kunshan, Jiangsu Province, and was built in the 10th year of the Tianjian period of the Liang Dynasty (511 AD). It was rebuilt in 2005 on Yangshu Road in the Kunshan Development Zone (south bank of Taicang Pond, west side of Dongting Lake Road), with the main temple area covering 22 mu. It is a temple complex in East China with a "Min-Taiwan" style and Lugang characteristics. The entire temple is planned based on the architectural design of Lugang Longshan Temple, and the configuration of Mengjia Longshan Temple is also considered. The architectural design was led by architect Fu Hongren, who was responsible for the restoration and reconstruction of Lugang Longshan Temple, and led the cross-strait design teams in Taipei, Kunshan, and Quanzhou. The design draws inspiration from the architectural and artistic features of famous ancient temples in southern Fujian, such as Lugang Longshan Temple, Quanzhou Kaiyuan Temple, Chengtian Zen Temple, and Tianhou Palace, and is supported by the century-old craftsmanship and artisans of Quanzhou. The entire temple combines the beauty of ancient southern Fujian architecture and Taiwan's Longshan Temple and Tianhou Palace Mazu Temple, with the elegance of Suzhou gardens and the ancient commercial streets of Lugang Town. Visitors can stroll through the ancient streets and red brick houses of Lugang, with red walls and swallowtail ridges, and experience the strong hometown atmosphere, comforting the homesickness of travelers.
