Jinxi Ancient Town

Jinxi Ancient Town is located in Kunshan, the birthplace of Kunqu Opera, the "ancestor of all operas," and the most economically powerful county-level city in the Chinese mainland. The ancient town is a water town in the Jiangnan region with a history of over 2,000 years. It is known as the "hometown of Chinese folk museums" and is home to many cultural sites, historical attractions, and countless buildings with unique Ming and Qing Dynasty characteristics. Famous attractions include Tongshen Yuyuan, Chen Fei Shui Tomb, and Lianchi Temple. Compared to Zhouzhuang, Jinxi Ancient Town has preserved the natural and simple folk customs of the ancient town, and there are not as many tourists. Walking along the brick-paved riverbank, you can still see residents washing clothes, fishing, killing fish, and washing fish by the river, giving you the illusion of traveling through time.
