#Japan Attractions Tsurui Ito is a facility operated by the Wild Birds Society of Japan that aims to protect red-crowned cranes and their habitats. Most of the land in the reserve was donated by the late Mr. Yoshitaka Ito, who had long raised red-crowned cranes, so it was named after him. During the foraging season from November to March, this place becomes a photographer's paradise. Every day, photographers or enthusiasts with cameras can be seen near the fences of the habitat, capturing the beauty of the red-crowned cranes through the viewfinder. Some tourists also take selfies with the cranes directly with their mobile phones. Every day at dawn, the red-crowned cranes fly from the nearby Otowa Bridge to this feeding ground and then return to their habitat. There are several places in Hokkaido where you can see red-crowned cranes, but here they are the most numerous and the closest to viewing.
