Explore Arashiyama like a local

If you asked me where is the most memorable place in Japan? I would say it's Arashiyama in Kyoto. I know it's a bit touristy, especially during Spring and Autumn. But Arashiyama is not only about the bamboo forest. If you explore more surrounding area, you would find Arashiyama is more than that. A friend of mine recommend me to explore Arashiyama by bike. She said you would feel like in Doraemon's life. The ambience and people were really nice. Go to Katsura River, there's a famous coffee shop nearby. I grab a cup of coffee and take a seat by the river, just to watch people passing by with their pets. Sometimes a boat coming by and the boat man will say hi to you.
