Mercure Kyoto Station The first Mercure hotel in Kyoto and the 6th branch in Japan, this is another hotel that I would like to recommend for those looking for accommodation not far from Kyoto Station. The design is beautiful and the rooms are larger than the standard of general Japanese hotels. There are 225 rooms in total, designed by "Design Studio Crow", who also designed the Mercure Ginza branch. Here, they use patterns from the Heian period, about 1,200 years ago, to commemorate the most prosperous era of Kyoto. Each floor has a different design theme. This hotel just opened in late 2022, so I can assure you that everything is new and up to the standards of Accor hotels. Location - The hotel is about 500 meters from Kyoto Station (exit through the Kyoto Tower entrance). Across from the hotel, there is a bus stop, making it convenient to travel around the city. Room - We stayed in a Superior King room, which is the hotel's starting room. The size is 23 square meters, quite spacious and just right for 2 people. The interior of the room is beautifully decorated. There is a view of both Nishi Hongan-ji Temple and Kyoto Tower (you can request the hotel when booking which view you want). The room is equipped with modern equipment, including a smart TV and USB ports for charging. The bathroom is a shower room (there are rooms with bathtubs but they are more expensive). There is a sofa bed by the window for you to lie down and enjoy the view. Trattoria M Kyoto, the first Italian restaurant in the Accor group in Japan, is also open on the 1st floor of the hotel. It is also a breakfast room for guests. Breakfast is an international buffet with both Japanese food and breakfast according to the standard of general hotels. The disadvantage of this place is that there is no fitness center and swimming pool (including Onsen, which many hotels in Kyoto have). It may not be suitable for those who want to relax in the hotel to the fullest because there are not many activities to do. The room rate starts at around 3,xxx baht per night (depending on the time and festival). During the time we stayed, it was around 5,xxx baht per night because it was the autumn leaves season, causing the price of hotels in Kyoto to skyrocket almost everywhere. However, the price here is still acceptable when compared to what you get. Overall, we were quite impressed with the atmosphere, service, cleanliness, and comfort of the room. This makes this another hotel that we would like to recommend. If we have the chance, we will definitely come back to stay again. #Prepare for a trip to Hong Kong
