Bishamon-do and Yamashina Shoten in Yamashina, Kyoto

15 minutes walk from Yamashina Station in Kyoto! We walked up a steep hill and through a residential area to Bishamon-do. It is a Tendai sect temple and one of the Five Tendai sect Temples in Kyoto. It enshrines Bishamonten, one of the Seven Lucky Gods of Kyoto, as its principal image. The spring cherry blossoms and autumn maple leaves are said to be beautiful, but it was also nice and quiet during this time of winter! The bride in a pure white wedding kimono was beautiful. After worshiping and receiving a goshuin, we went to Sorin-in Yamashina Seiten, which is located right next door (1 minute walk). It was founded by Kokai, who rebuilt Bishamon-do, and is called Yamashina Seiten because it enshrines Daisho Kankiten as its principal image. You can also enjoy the autumn leaves in the temple grounds, but it's winter now. It was quiet and lovely with a light flurry of snow! Kyoto in winter is also nice (＾∇＾) #Breathtaking views
