Kyoto | A Day of Strolling

No matter how many times I visit Kyoto, I never get tired of it 🥰 This time, I planned a day of strolling, visiting Murin-an, Eikando, and then wandering along Shishigatani Street next to the Philosopher's Path. In the afternoon, I took a break at Botanic Coffee for some afternoon tea, which was simply perfect. The beauty of Kyoto is hidden in its understated corners, often discovered unexpectedly while walking. Compared to the bustling spots like Kiyomizu-dera and Fushimi Inari, I prefer these quiet routes where I can deeply feel the tranquility and poetic charm of Kyoto. 🌳 Murin-an is a small, exquisite Japanese garden. You need to make a reservation a day in advance and pay the admission fee at the time of booking. Luckily, it snowed all night the previous night, covering the garden in white snow, even layering the dry landscape garden, making it incredibly beautiful. Sitting in the study, quietly watching the wind blow over the eaves, snowflakes gently falling, sometimes turning into light rain, sometimes snowing again, was incredibly healing. If it's cold, they provide blankets, and you can order a cup of matcha to quietly relax and unwind. Note that you can't take portrait photos at Murin-an, only landscape shots, but this allows you to fully immerse yourself in the scenery, making it exceptionally comfortable. 🍁 Eikando makes me really look forward to its autumn scenery. I must find an opportunity to visit in the fall next time. This time, visiting in winter, the trees were all bare, giving a sense of solitude, but it perfectly showcased the beauty of 'wabi-sabi,' with its own unique charm. 🎈 After leaving Eikando, I strolled along Shishigatani Street, lined with low Japanese houses, extremely quiet, making it a paradise for walking enthusiasts.
