Calm Shrine

#springitinerary Myoshin-ji is one of those temples that doesn’t have the crowds but totally nails the Zen vibe. It’s a huge complex with lots of little sub-temples scattered around, so you can just wander and take your time. Founded in the 14th century, it's one of the top temples of the Rinzai school of Zen Buddhism. The place is super chill, and if you’re into the whole zen garden thing, you're in luck, there’s a bunch here to enjoy. The gardens are peaceful, with gravel paths, bonsais, and ponds. The whole atmosphere is perfect for clearing your mind and just being in the moment. It’s not super flashy or touristy like some of Kyoto’s other temples, which is kind of what makes it great. You can just lose yourself in the calm and take in the history without all the hustle and bustle. Definitely worth a quiet visit.
