📍 Aomomjien (Kitano Tenmangu Shrine) Momijien on the west side of the shrine grounds is a famous spot for the beautiful young leaves of about 350 maples and Japanese maples. The area around the vermilion-painted Uguisu Bridge over the Kamiya River in the shrine grounds is also a popular photo spot. Momijien turns a deep red in autumn, and the refreshing beauty of the green maples in early summer is also exceptional. The surface of the Kamiya River, which was once a papermaking area, reflects the vibrant new green leaves and is full of vitality. In April, the Yamabuki flowers that bloom along the Kamiya River are also beautiful, and the contrast between the new green leaves of the maples and the yellow of the Yamabuki is stunning.
