Trip to Leeds 🇬🇧

It was a short weekend getaway to Leeds, UK. We started our trip in Leeds by exploring the vibrant city center. We visited the Leeds Art Gallery, which boasts an impressive collection of 19th and 20th-century art. The gallery itself is a beautiful building, and the exhibitions are well-curated. 💰Free 📍The Headrow, Leeds LS1 3AA Free Entry Then we wandered over to the historic Leeds Corn Exchange. This Victorian building is now home to a variety of independent shops and eateries. We particularly enjoyed browsing the eclectic mix of stores and picking up unique gifts. Don’t miss the chance to grab a coffee ☕️ at one of the charming cafes inside. 📍Call Lane, Leeds LS1 7BR We also strolled through the picturesque Roundhay Park. It’s a large, scenic park perfect for a leisurely walk or a picnic. We particularly enjoyed the tropical world section with its lush plants and exotic animals. 📍Roundhay Park, Leeds LS8 2HH For dinner, we headed to Tharavadu, an Indian restaurant known for its authentic Kerala cuisine. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the flavors were incredibly rich and satisfying. I’d recommend trying their signature Kerala prawn curry🍤 📍16-18 North Street, Leeds LS2 7PN 💰 £20-£30 per person We started our second day with a visit to the Royal Armouries Museum. The museum houses an impressive collection of arms and armor from various periods and cultures. We were particularly intrigued by the medieval and oriental collections. Admission is free, and it’s a fascinating place to spend a few hours. 📍Armouries Drive, Leeds LS10 1LT 💰Free For lunch, we stopped at the Leeds Kirkgate Market, one of the largest indoor markets in Europe. The market is bustling with vendors selling everything from fresh produce to street food. We enjoyed some delicious street food from the various stalls and explored the diverse range of goods on offer. 📍Kirkgate, Leeds LS2 7HY In the afternoon, we visited the Leeds University and walked around the university. We also visited Henry Moore Institute, which is dedicated to the study and display of sculpture. The exhibitions are always changing, providing a fresh experience with each visit. The institute is well worth a visit for art enthusiasts. 📍74 The Headrow, Leeds LS1 3AH 💰Free To end our weekend, we had dinner at The Oxford, a stylish bistro offering a mix of British and European dishes. The setting was charming, and the food was exceptional. We particularly enjoyed their beef Wellington. 📍9 Oxford Place, Leeds LS1 3AX 💰£20-£35 per person #weekendgetaways #trip #vacation
