The two directions of the town are also two styles, the alpine skiing of Torrent and the cross-country skiing of Gemmi Mountain Pass: Leukerbad provides tourists with 50 kilometers of snow trails and 25 kilometers of cross-country skiing trails. The 9.7-kilometer-long ski trail starts at the Schwalbennest mountain station. Here you can enjoy the magnificent scenery extending to the Rhone Valley and 20 peaks of 4000 meters high in Valais.
