Train Y972 (Lhasa to Xining)

This is my first time to visit Tibet. For transportation, I chose to take a flight into Tibet and take a train out of Tibet. It is recommended to arrive at the station at least 1 hour in advance to verify your identity (Taiwan Compatriot Certificate + Tibet Entry Permit) and pass security check. Ticket inspection starts 30 minutes before departure (please note that the gate will be closed 7 minutes before departure). After entering the platform, show your ID at the entrance of the carriage according to the reservation information on your ticket to verify boarding. I booked the lower berth of a hard sleeper. The upper, middle and lower berths each have their own advantages and disadvantages. It is recommended that you make a strategy online and book a seat that suits your preference. Regarding meals on the train, you can choose to order food in the dining car, or there will be conductors pushing the dining car back and forth for sales during meal times; during non-meal times, there will also be conductors pushing biscuits, fruits, instant noodles, drinks, specialties and other products for sale. Of course, the food and beverage prices on the train are indeed a bit expensive.
