Huangya Cave is located in Licheng County, Changzhi City, Shanxi Province, in the middle of the Taihang Mountains, with an area of ​​14 square kilometers and an altitude of 1,800 meters. During the Anti-Japanese War, Huangyadong was the largest arsenal behind enemy lines in North China. In 1939, the Eighth Route Army Headquarters moved the arsenal to Shuiyaoshan in Huangyadong and expanded it into the largest arsenal of the Eighth Route Army in North China at that time. In November 1941, the Huangyadong Defense Battle that shocked China and the world took place here. In 1971, the "Huangyadong Defense Battle Martyrs Memorial Tower" was built. In 1985, the arsenal building was restored, and a new archway, exhibition hall, and anti-Japanese tower were built. The Huangyadong Cultural Tourism Area consists of the Huangyadong Red Classic Area, the Tianwaitian Leisure Experience Area and the entrance service area. The scenic area is dotted with ruins and relics such as Huangya Cave (material warehouse), former arsenal sites, martyrs' cemetery, and bunker groups.
