A Trip to Lille, France Lille, a city in northern France, attracts me with its unique charm. Walking on the cobblestone streets of the old town, I feel like I have traveled through time and space, back to 17th-century France. Gothic, Renaissance, and Baroque buildings are scattered around, each telling stories of the past. I first visited the Notre-Dame de la Treille Cathedral in Lille. This Roman Catholic church has a simple and old appearance, but it exudes a strong sense of history. Walking inside, I feel the solemn and sacred atmosphere of religion. Then, I went to the Palais des Beaux-Arts de Lille. This magnificent building, built in the late 19th century, is one of the largest museums in France outside of Paris. I strolled through the exhibition halls, admiring many famous paintings, sculptures, and ceramics from the 15th to the 20th century, as if I were on an artistic journey through time and space. Of course, the food in Lille is not to be missed. In the old town, I tasted local specialties such as Belgian beer-braised beef and caramel ice cream, each bite leaving me wanting more. In the evening, I went to Place Charles de Gaulle, the dividing line between the old and new towns. The Porte de Paris on the square is 50 meters high, a replica of the Arc de Triomphe in Paris, and a landmark of Lille. Standing on the square, overlooking the beautiful scenery of the entire city, I feel a deep love and nostalgia for Lille. Overall, Lille is a charming city. Whether it's historical buildings, art treasures, or food culture, it leaves a lasting impression. If you plan to travel to France, consider adding Lille to your itinerary.
