There are cars in Zhaoxing Dong Village that can take you to the Tang'an Rice Terraces on the mountain. There is a schedule for the cars, and you can see the schedule and contact information on the signs on the street in the village. Just call according to your schedule. We took a car to the mountain with a cat. After getting off the car, you can walk up the mountain if you have good legs. I was lazy and had a cat, so I chose to take a van. It seems to be CNY 5 per person, and four people can share a car, so you can save your energy for walking around. The car will stop at the entrance of the Tang'an Rice Terraces. Walk a little further to the viewing platform, and further on, you will see the local people's houses. You can watch the aunties washing vegetables and chat with them. There is an auntie who can play the piano and sing for a fee, but I didn't listen because it was inconvenient to bring a cat. I ate pork skewers grilled by a mother with a baby on her back, which seemed to be CNY 10 for five skewers. I rarely eat grilled skewers, but this one was really delicious and fragrant. I ordered another five skewers after finishing the first five. Then I walked down the mountain with the cat. It was not far to the shuttle bus stop, and then I took the bus back to the village. The scenery along the way was a bit like Northern Europe, and the cat and I stopped for a long time. It is definitely worth spending an hour or two at the Tang'an Rice Terraces, and the best part is that it's free!
