I personally think a six-day itinerary for Genyen is the most reasonable arrangement. It connects Xinduqiao, Gongga, and the Southern Route of Genyen seamlessly, offering a comfortable pace, high flexibility, comprehensive scenery coverage, and less visual fatigue. The forward route avoids areas with falling rocks, landslides, and potholes, making it accessible for sedans. The main focus is on the surroundings of Ze'ba Village, where most of the scenic spots of the Southern Route are located. If weather and road conditions permit, you can opt for the reverse route to experience the complete Southern Route of Genyen. Below is the detailed guide 👇🏻

The best time to visit Genyen is from June to September, which is also the rainy season. However, there’s no need to worry too much about the weather. This year has seen less rainfall, and the plateau climate is highly variable, with different weather conditions every few miles. The route doesn’t need to be fixed entirely; you can adjust it flexibly based on the weather, road conditions, scenery, and the physical state of the group.
