St. Martin-in-the-Fields - London

St. Martin-in-the-Fields is London's largest parish church. The temple is located in the northeast corner of Trafalgar Square next to the National Gallery. The church was built in 1726 on the site of an ancient sanctuary mentioned in the chronicles of 1222. The remains of eminent Englishmen are kept in the church: the artists William Hogarth and Joshua Reynolds. Charity is one of the main areas of activity of this church: during World War I, a shelter for homeless soldiers and beggars was arranged at the temple, during World War II - a bomb shelter. Among the parishioners of the church are representatives of the royal family and the inhabitants of Buckingham Palace, ordinary citizens, the poor.
