🚶‍♀️🌉 My Favorite Commute: Millennium Bridge to Westminster Along the South Bank 🌆🌿

#myfavoriteroute There’s something magical about starting your day with a walk that feels more like a sightseeing tour than a commute. My favorite route takes me from the Millennium Bridge, across the River Thames, and along the scenic South Bank all the way to Westminster — a path filled with iconic views, quiet moments, and the ever-changing rhythm of London life. ⸻ 🌁 Millennium Bridge: A Striking Start I kick off my walk on the sleek Millennium Bridge, often greeted by the view of St. Paul’s Cathedral behind me and the Tate Modern rising ahead. It’s the perfect spot to pause and take in the city skyline, especially in the soft morning light or golden hour glow. ⸻ 🎭 Tate Modern to Shakespeare’s Globe On my left, the Tate Modern looms with bold creativity — sometimes I’ll pop in for a quick exhibit if time allows. Just a few steps further, I pass Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre, where echoes of the Bard still seem to linger in the air. ⸻ ☕️ Riverside Cafés and Quiet Corners The South Bank is dotted with cozy cafés and shaded benches — perfect for a takeaway coffee or simply watching the boats drift by. The Oxo Tower and Gabriel’s Wharf offer charm and quieter vibes, especially on weekday mornings. ⸻ 🎡 London Eye & Jubilee Gardens As I approach Jubilee Gardens, the London Eye slowly turns above, offering a familiar yet always breathtaking sight. Families, tourists, and locals all converge here, adding life and laughter to the path. On sunny days, the gardens are a peaceful green oasis right in the heart of the city. ⸻ 🏛️ Final Stretch: Westminster Bridge Views Crossing Westminster Bridge, I’m treated to one of the best views in the city — Big Ben, the Houses of Parliament, and the Thames stretching out behind me. It’s the perfect punctuation to a walk that somehow always feels fresh, no matter how many times I take it.
