[London's landmark that excites you just by looking at it - London Eye] What landmarks come to mind when you think of London? There are so many, like the London Eye, Tower Bridge, Big Ben, The Shard, St. Paul's Cathedral, and the red bus, which is not a landmark. This time, I'll introduce you to the London Eye :) ๐ก London Eye โ Fee: Adults ยฃ27. Time required: Approximately 30 minutes per lap The London Eye is the tallest Ferris wheel in the world, installed by British Airways in 1999 and 2000. The current color of the London Eye is red because it is sponsored by Coca-Cola. A few years ago, it was blue because it was sponsored by Samsung๐ Photos 1 and 2 ๐Side of the London Eye - Westminster Bridge This is the prettiest London Eye photo zone in my opinion๐ From the green Westminster Bridge, you can look at the side of the London Eye and see Big Ben, like in photo 2. Photos 3-6 ๐London Eye, across the Thames This is where you can see the London Eye right in the middle of the river. There are many famous photos, such as the photo that looks like you're holding the London Eye and the London Eye crown selfie. Those photos were taken at this photo zone. And the Blue Zone where the London Eye fireworks New Year's countdown is held is also right here๐ Photos 7-9 ๐Jubilee Park & โโGarden Jubilee Garden where the London Eye Ferris wheel boarding gate is located.! [Finding traces of Sherlock Holmes๐] You all know the representative British drama Sherlock Holmes, which is set in London, England, right? When I first went to London, the thing that excited me the most was being able to go to Sherlock Holmes' house. I'm a huge Sherlock fan๐ค The Sherlock Holmes Museum, which is famous as a tourist attraction, is not an actual filming location, but a space decorated for Sherlock Holmes fans. The first floor is a souvenir shop and filming is not allowed, but the second floor is a reenactment of Sherlock Holmes' house in the drama. You have to buy an admission fee and wait a little bit to enter, so filming is allowed. I went with a friend who is not a Sherlock fan, so I couldn't go to the second floor, but I was able to take a picture in front of the souvenir shop on the first floor with someone dressed like a police officer and wearing a Sherlock hat๐ฅฐ +) Photo 7 ๐speedy's sandwich bar & cafe Does this place look familiar? This is the actual filming location of Sherlock Holmes' house, 221B Baker Street. Actually, he also runs this Speedy Sandwich restaurant and the black door next to it is the door that Sherlock comes and goes through!! [The place in Harry Potter! The secretly unknown Leadenhall Marketโค๏ธ] Leadenhall Market is a traditional indoor market in London, England. As mentioned in the previous post, there is a scene in "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone" where Harry and Hagrid hit bricks, and the place where they hit bricks is Leadenhall Market. Even though it was a scene that passed by briefly in the movie, when I first came to Leadenhall Market, I thought, "Wow! This is a Harry Potter filming location!" The atmosphere was just like Harry Potter๐คญ However, there were more office workers than tourists than I thought. Leadenhall Market is in the center of London's financial district, so on the way to the market, there were a lot of office workers wearing suits in company buildings~ Even so, if you go into Leadenhall Market, you can find the Haddocks because they recognize the Haddocks! [Bubble play on the Thames River + Millennium Bridge] I crossed the Millennium Bridge to go to Tate Modern to see the exhibition after seeing the view of London from One New Change. You can see The Shard and Tower Bridge on both sides of the Millennium Bridge, and you can see St. Paul's Cathedral behind Tate Modern in front. [London's landmark that makes you excited just by looking at it - Tower Bridge] This time, I'm going to introduce you to my favorite London landmark, Tower Bridge! ๐ค Tower Bridge is a place I like so much that I always went there twice during my busy travel schedule while staying in London. Why is that... huh? Because it's cute like Lego?? And it's a place that feels very London-like๐ฅฐ โ ๐บ London Tower Bridge โ Completed in 1894, it's a Victorian-style bridge that allows ships to pass through. However, the bridge only opens and closes once or twice a week, and only 1 to 5 times, so it's not easy to see the view. I've never seen it myself๐ฅฒ In particular, since both the daytime and nighttime views are so attractive that I can't choose, I think it would be nice to enjoy the view during the day and at night with a can of beer. [Tate Modern, London's Modern Art Museum] Tate Modern is a former abandoned thermal power plant that the Tate Gallery acquired and reborn as an art gallery and museum. If you look at picture 9, you can see that the chimney still remains, as if it were once a power plant. However, the interior has been completely remodeled to become the Tate Modern interior we know! I briefly looked around the free exhibition and headed to the 6th floor cafe, which is why Koreans go to Tate Modern๐ Pictures 1 and 2 ๐6th floor cafe: The Kitchen & Bar / The Kitchen and Bar This is the famous 6th floor cafe. You should definitely sit by the window with a view of London. It would be nice to simply enjoy a flat white and a croissant while enjoying the view.!โ๏ธ Picture 3 ๐London view from the 3rd floor terrace While continuing to look around the exhibition, I found the terrace on the 3rd floor and went out. The view was pretty good here too. One New Change is a shopping center facing St. Paul's Cathedral. The reason why this place is especially popular is because you can see St. Paul's Cathedral very close and beautifully from the 6th floor roof terrace, and you can see the wide open view of downtown Londonโค๏ธ Thanks to that, it seems like people often take snapshots here~ When you arrive at One New Change, take the transparent elevator to the 6th floor roof terrace.
