Yongmutang, Longyou Residential Courtyard, Zhejiang

Originally located in Diwei Village, Huzhen Town, Longyou County, Yongmutang covers an area of 540 square meters. It served as an ancestral hall for a branch of the Xu family and is known locally as "Dating" (the Great Hall). An inscription on the central ridge beam of the middle section indicates it was built in the 12th year of the Jiaqing reign of the Qing Dynasty. Research suggests that the Xu family migrated from Houshan Xu to Qidu in the early Qing Dynasty and established their main ancestral hall there, later branching out to Diwei. The building has two courtyards and three bays, divided into a gate hall, a middle hall, and a rear building. A stage is set up in the gate hall. The building is known for its wood carvings. The exquisite craftsmanship of the moon beams, hanging panels, brackets, corbels, and piano beams in the gate hall and middle hall showcases distinctive characteristics of the era and a rich local style. It is a key cultural relic protection site in Zhejiang Province.
