The Dongshan Hotel opposite the Longmen Grottoes

Location - The hotel is right across from the Longmen Grottoes, and the hotel's car can take you to the hotel entrance, but you still have to walk about 20 minutes to reach the main gate of the Longmen Grottoes. Our room included a pick-up from Luoyang Longmen Station, and the business car arrived on time at the exit to take us to the hotel, which is about 15 minutes from the station. Environment - As the hotel is built against a mountain, the lobby is on the 3rd floor, and our room was a quiet king-size room, which means it's actually two levels underground on the 1st floor. But it didn't feel like it at all, the view outside the window is a bamboo forest, which is also quite nice. To the left of the hotel entrance is Baiyuan, and to the right is Xiangshan Temple. We suggest that you visit the Longmen Grottoes on your own after arrival, and then visit Baiyuan and Xiangshan Temple from the hotel the next morning. Room - The room has a strong old cadre style, with even a Dell computer and a fax machine. The afternoon sun shines in, giving a bit of an 80s vibe. Special praise for the bathroom in the room, where the sink has drinking water, and the shower's hot water is labeled as hot spring water. The room provides Ice Dew purified water, which seems a bit cheap. Breakfast - The hotel includes breakfast, served in Building 6, which has a large space. The freshly cooked mutton soup is delicious. We chose a seat by the window, and there was a small pavilion in the distance, which felt very atmospheric. Tea Room - There is also a tea room upstairs in the hotel, where you can overlook the Longmen Grottoes across the Yi River. We went there for tea in the morning, with the sun shining brightly, and we were the only ones in the large tea room, which felt very good. Very satisfied with this hotel, it's like a big park. If you have time, you can stay for a few more days and take your time exploring.
