Weekend Trip to Luoyang, the Capital of the Gods

Another weekend, another trip to Luoyang, the ancient capital of 13 dynasties. The city is home to many museums and has a rich history. The food is also delicious and affordable. Route: 1️⃣ Day 1: Longmen Grottoes (3–4 hrs) - Sui-Tang Luoyang City National Heritage Park (3–4 hrs) 2️⃣ Day 2: White Horse Temple (2 hrs) - Luoyang Museum (2–3 hrs) 🏨 Accommodation: I recommend staying near the high-speed rail station for easy access to transportation. I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express Luoyang City Center, which is a great value for money. The subway is right outside the hotel. ✅ Longmen Grottoes: Located on the Longmen and Xiangshan Mountains on both sides of the Yi River in Luolong District, Luoyang, Henan Province, the Longmen Grottoes are a treasure of Chinese stone carving art and an important world cultural heritage site. A must-see in Luoyang. ✅ Sui-Tang Luoyang City National Heritage Park: A comprehensive museum that combines culture, entertainment, and leisure. You can choose the immersive interactive experience "Tang Palace Banquet" and dress up as a Tang person to learn more about the prosperity of the Tang Dynasty. ✅ White Horse Temple: The first ancient temple in China and the first temple built after Buddhism was introduced to China. The earliest Sanskrit Buddhist scriptures, the "Palm Leaf Manuscripts," are kept in the White Horse Temple. Many people come here to pray for blessings. ✅ Luoyang Museum: A national first-class museum with a modern and unique architectural design. The exterior is simple and elegant. The exhibitions are very rich. First, go to the Treasure Exhibition on the second floor, where 21 national first-class cultural relics are on display. Then, go to the three exhibition halls of the Heluo Civilization Exhibition on the first floor. 🌈 If you have enough time, you can also visit Laojun Mountain. Luoyang has many other museums, over a hundred of them! As for food, there are Luoyang Hutu Noodles, Luoyang Water Banquet, Beef Soup, Stew, and more. Almost every dish has pepper, which I really like. The restaurants I ate at are: ✅ Xiaoqigui Hui Noodles ✅ Xiaojie Tianfu ✅ Lao Luoyang Noodle House ✅ I don't remember the name, but it's a small shop outside the northeast gate of the Longmen Grottoes.
