Climb up Mount Bishop to overlook the beautiful scenery of Macau.

Leaving the A-Ma Temple, head south along A-Ma Street in front, pass the Macau Contemporary Art Center, turn in the opposite direction and merge into a mountain road called Baogong Road. Although this road is not long, it has a steep slope and there are no trees on the roadside to provide shade. There is a T-junction halfway up the hill. By the time I climbed here, I felt my heart beating faster and I had symptoms of heatstroke. I gasped for breath under a big tree at the intersection and it took me a long time to recover. According to the road signs, to the right is the circular Avenida da Guia, from where you can go to the Macau Tower and of course go down the mountain. Turn left and continue up the mountain along Baogong Road. After about 10 minutes, you will arrive at the Bishop Hill Observation Deck. This place is located on the north side of Bishop Hill, and most of what you see are Zhuhai's skyscrapers. Opposite the Penha Hill Observation Deck is the Guia Church and the bishop's private residence on the top of the mountain. The Our Lady of Guia Observation Deck on its south side offers the best views. Standing here, you can have a panoramic view of the Macau Tower, and the three cross-sea bridges from the Macau Island to Coloane are also clearly visible. It is indeed the best viewing platform to overlook the entire Macau. Through the iron gate next to it, you come to the church area on the top of the mountain. Because it is private territory, the interior of the church is not open to the public. You can only stand outside to take photos and check in, feeling its majestic aura. The church was built in 1622 and is dedicated to Our Lady of the Sea. In 1935, it was rebuilt together with the bishop's private residence and finally reached its current size. The original name of this mountain is Mount Wangyang, and it is also called Bishop Hill because of the presence of the church. The Guia Church combines different architectural styles. Its simple and asymmetrical shape has obvious modern architectural features. Coming to the north side of the church, you can see the main island of Macau, and the magnificent building of the Grand Lisboa Casino stands out before your eyes like a crane among chickens. Next to the Bishop Hill Observation Deck is a steep path called Xiwangyang Lane, which leads down the mountain. Keep walking to Xikeng Street, you will see a flight of stairs on the roadside. Go down from here and you will arrive at the famous A-Po Well Square.
