The Cheng Family Mansion is a rare traditional Chinese mansion in Macau.

Arriving at Yapojingqian from Bishop Mountain, it looks ordinary. There are two ancient banyan trees and a kiosk in a small square, but it is actually a scenic spot in Macau. The so-called Ya Po means grandma in Cantonese. According to legend, in the Ming Dynasty, an old woman built a pool here to store mountain spring water to facilitate the surrounding residents to get water for drinking. People called this pond A Po Well. Because of the water source, this area developed into a settlement and was one of the earliest residential areas in Macau. Across the road from Yapojingqiandi is the Zheng family's mansion. The white wall behind the Moon Gate is inlaid with the word "Liu Yue", and the couplets on both sides are: "People in Zhuma appreciate the ancient shadow, and people in Buchan appreciate the strong fragrance of cinnamon." The scholarly atmosphere of traditional Chinese culture is felt. Entering the Moon Gate, there is a long corridor leading to the gate tower in front. A plaque with the name "Rong Lu Di" hangs in the gatehouse. It is the only honor and Lu official title in Macao, which shows its past glory. After passing through the gatehouse, there is a row of two-story Chinese-style buildings with white walls and gray tiles on the left. It is the main room area composed of two traditional Lingnan courtyard-style buildings. The gate of the left building has a semicircular arch, which is obviously It draws on Western architectural elements. The plaque "Tongfengdi" hangs above the lintel of the main building, and the couplets on both sides read: "In front of you, you face the sea of ​​mirrors, and in the back you rest on the lotus peak." Different from the Chinese-style buildings we see in ordinary times, the hall is arranged on the second floor and named Yuqingtang. The plaque "Yu Qing" hangs above the nave, which looks very grand. The hall is spacious, with Chinese-style mahogany chairs and coffee tables on both sides. There are passages connecting the houses, which can be said to be connected in all directions. The owner of the Zheng Family House is Zheng Guanying, a famous thinker and industrialist in modern China. The "Warnings in the Prosperity" compiled here had an impact on that era. The compound was built by his father Zheng Wenrui and its history can be traced back to 1869.
