Lou Kau House: A historical and cultural treasure of Macau 🏛️✨

#MacauAttractions During my trip to Macau, I made a special visit to the **Lou Family Mansion**, which was built around the 15th year of the Guangxu period (1889) and is the former residence of the famous businessman Lo Huashao’s family🏠. Lu Huashao, a native of Xinhui, Guangdong, moved to Macau in 1857. With his excellent business acumen, he gradually accumulated wealth and became a well-known local businessman💰. When I walked into the Lu family mansion, I was first attracted by its Chinese-style blue brick architecture. This typical late Qing dynasty residence has two floors with three bays and three entrances. The design takes ventilation and lighting into consideration. There are multiple patios in the house, making the entire space appear particularly transparent☀️. On the central axis, there is only a screen partition, giving people a sense of open atmosphere. The decoration of the Lu family mansion is quite exquisite, showing a combination of Chinese and Western styles. The house has both brick carvings and plaster sculptures commonly seen in the Lingnan region, as well as Western-style false ceilings and shutters. The fusion of these elements reflects the unique residential culture of Macau🎨. Walking here, I seem to be traveling through history and feel the prosperous commercial activities of the past📜. This visit gave me a deeper understanding of Macau’s history and culture.
