Madrid's most iconic train station ⭐️🚝

I'm travelling around Spain by train (one of the best ways to) and I'd heard a lot about the beautiful Madrid Atocha Railway Station (Estación Madrid de Atocha). In person, it really is breathtaking! One of the most beautiful train stations I've ever been in. Atocha is the largest station in Spain that serves the most kinds of trains: commuter, intercity, regional, and the AVE high speed. What's iconic and unusual is that the atmosphere, architecture, and decoration in the old plaza (see pictures) don't make the place feel like a train station! It is also very cooling, thanks to the amount of greenery and plants in the plaza. If you're not departing/arriving here, I still recommend visiting the Atocha station when in Madrid! There is also lots of history to this station: the current building was built in 1892, and even houses a memorial outside for the victims of the 2004 Madrid train bombings. This is the perfect place for lovers of history, architecture, plants, and trains! So beautiful and iconic.
