Uniqlo Coffee – UNIQLO COFFEE

This cafe at the top of Uniqlo isn't large and there's a small but seemingly adequate amount of seating for the fast turnover. We tried the special Geisha blend hand-drip coffee and it was a bit fruity but otherwise not particularly special. Still, it was an ok cup of black coffee.

They also sell a few small packaged snacks to go with your coffee.

Not bad for a convenient coffee break whilst shopping at Uniqlo, but I wouldn't go out of my way to come for the coffee.

Maebashi Park was such a cozy hanami experience. It’s not a huge park, but the layout makes it feel intimate and really accessible — winding paths, a river running through, and tons of sakura trees creating perfect little nooks for sitting and relaxing. I came on a weekday and joined some office workers on lunch break just soaking up the sun and petals. There’s a cute little bridge in the middle that gives great symmetry shots — I took a self-timer shot there for my #cherryblossom25 gallery and it felt like a postcard. The park is close to Maebashi Station, so it’s easy to pop in if you’re traveling through Gunma. It may not have the fame of the mega spots, but it had heart. Peaceful, charming, and totally local.

“Senbonzakura” means “a thousand cherry trees,” and Akagi Senbonzakura lives up to the name. This Gunma gem has two distinct vibes — a forested cherry blossom tunnel that feels like you’re walking through a sakura cathedral, and a massive field of bright yellow rapeseed flowers stretching out beside it. The contrast is unreal. I came early in the morning and had the place nearly to myself — mist rising off the fields, blossoms just starting to open in soft light. It’s the kind of place where you don’t need music or apps, just take slow steps and breathe it in. I ended up staying for a mini food festival they were holding, tried miso skewers and sakura mochi while sitting under the trees. It was low-key perfect. My photo with the pink-and-yellow landscape got featured on a local page via #cherryblossom25 — and totally deserves it.

But I went there for the first time and was enchanted by its charm 🥹🥹🥹🫧

There are various exhibits, sales of miscellaneous goods, a reading corner, etc., so people can spend their time however they like.

A stylish pasta restaurant that a friend told me about.

It's a popular restaurant, and it's often full on weekends.

It's a popular handcrafted pasta restaurant in Portland, Oregon, USA, and it's said that it opened its first store in Japan through a partnership with founder Rick Gencarelli, who sympathized with the Maebashi downtown revitalization project.

まえばしガレリア

白井屋ホテルに泊まった際に、近くのアートスポットに
行きたいなあと思い、訪れた施設。

100年以上前から約60年近くに渡り映画館のあった場所、
地域の人々が新しい文化に触れ、集い、親しんだ文化と
暮らしの交流拠点だった土地に新たな文化の発信源として
誕生した「まえばしガレリア」。

全体のデザインと設計を手がけるのは建築家 平田晃久氏、
また谷川じゅんじ氏をはじめとする国内外を
代表する様々なクリエイターや起業家が参加し
約5年におよぶ月日をかけて、
2023年春「まえばしガレリア」ができたんだとか。
 
企画展示など、一般人でも入れるエリアやレストラン、
レジデンスもある複合施設。
ユニークな外観は思わず目にとまる

私が行った時は一回で入場無料の企画展をしていたよ

While staying at Shiraiya Hotel, I wanted to visit a nearby art spot, so I visited this facility.

Maebashi Galleria was born as a source of new culture in a place where a movie theater had been located for over 100 years and for nearly 60 years, a place where local people could come into contact with new culture, gather, and become familiar with culture and exchange in their daily lives.

The overall design and planning was handled by architect Akihisa Hirata, and various creators and entrepreneurs representing Japan and abroad, including Junji Tanigawa, participated in the project, and it took about five years for Maebashi Galleria to be completed in the spring of 2023.

A complex facility with areas that are open to the public, such as special exhibitions, restaurants, and residences.
The unique exterior is sure to catch your eye.

When I went there, they were holding a special exhibition that was free to enter.

創業300年の歴史を誇る老舗旅館をリノベーションした「白井屋ホテル」は
元々あった建物の歴史を引き継ぐ、コンクリート剥き出しの
吹き抜けが印象的な「ヘリテージタワー」と
旧利根川の土手をイメージして新築した緑溢れる「グリーンタワー」の
新旧2つの棟からなる。

泊まったお部屋はデラックスツイン。
ランドリーバッグは持ち替え可能なんだけど、
デザインもオシャレすぎてさすが...！
アメニティがosajiなのも嬉しいポイント

客室に上毛かるた置いてあって群馬感じた😂笑

I've always wanted to go to SHIROIYA HOTEL in Maebashi, Gunma

Shiraiya Hotel, a renovated long-established inn with a history of 300 years, consists of two buildings, the old and new: the Heritage Tower, which has an impressive atrium with exposed concrete that inherits the history of the original building, and the Green Tower, which is full of greenery and was newly built with the image of the old Tone River bank.

The room I stayed in was a deluxe twin.
The laundry bag can be changed, but the design is so stylish that it's no surprise...!
The amenities are also Osaji, which is a nice point

There was a Jomo Karuta in the guest room, which made me feel like I was in Gunma 😂 lol
The drinks in the fridge are free 🥹🫧!

温浴効果や保湿効果だけでなく
疲労回復、デトックス効果が期待できるんだそう
漢方薬だけではなくハーブを組み合わせること
で香りによるリラックス効果も感じられるサウナ。

The artistic hotel Shiroya Hotel offers three different types of private saunas, each with its own unique character.

・Finnish sauna
The authentic Finnish sauna is a space equipped with self-loyly and a cold bath.
It is reserved for one group at a time, so you can relax without worrying about being seen by others.

・Bedroom sauna
This is only available to guests staying at the hotel.
The "turning over sauna" is produced by TTNE, by Dai Matsuo, known as the master of totonoe, and Daisuke Akiyama, known as the sauna master.
The double bed-sized sauna platform is just like a guest room. There is also a shower cooled by a chiller.

・Herb mist sauna
A herbal mist sauna filled with steam from herbal medicines.
Not only does it have a warming and moisturizing effect, but it also has fatigue recovery and detoxifying effects.

By combining herbs with Chinese herbal medicines, the sauna also has a relaxing effect from the aroma.

It's recommended as a place to spend a relaxing, healing time without being disturbed by anyone.
