SOLO BEACH CAMP: NOISE OF THE WAVES

There’s something about being alone on a beach that feels both liberating and humbling. That’s exactly what I experienced when I did a solo beach camp at Sadagat, Medellin, Cebu—a peaceful, untouched coastal paradise where it was just me, the sea, and the stars. Located in Medellin, northern Cebu, Sadagat Beach is a rising camping spot known for its white sand, clear waters, and peaceful atmosphere. From Cebu City, I drove 3-hours to reach the campsite. Unlike crowded tourist beaches, Sadagat had a laid-back, almost secret feel—no loud resorts, no parties, just pure nature --since it was a weekday. With my camp set, I spent the afternoon simply enjoying the beach. No distractions, no itinerary—just the sound of the waves and the feel of the sand beneath my feet. As the sun dipped below the horizon, the sky exploded in shades of orange, pink, and gold. It was one of those sunsets that you just watch in silence, completely in awe of nature’s beauty. Later that night, with no city lights nearby, the sky came alive with a blanket of stars. Lying on the sand, staring up at the Milky Way, I felt an overwhelming sense of peace. Being alone didn’t feel lonely—it felt freeing. Spending a night alone in Sadagat reminded me why I love solo travel—it’s a chance to disconnect from the noise of the world and reconnect with yourself.
