The mosque was intended to serve as a spiritual refuge for Ottoman soldiers. Its proximity to the railway station made it convenient for both the traveling pilgrims and the Ottoman soldiers guarding the region to worship. Built during the last period of the Ottoman Empire's domination of the Holy Land, it served not only as a place of worship but also as a symbol of the deep reverence the Ottoman had for Medina. The architecture of the mosque also reflects the sophistication of the Ottoman Empire. It is considered important as it is one of the architectural heritages of the Ottoman region.
