A Famosa Fort, Malacca, Malaysia

A Famosa Fort or St. John's Fort was built between 1511-1641 by the Portuguese on a hill above the river. It was built as a center for war with other great powers at that time. Inside the fort consisted of residential areas, food rooms, a castle, a meeting room for the Portuguese council, and five churches. Today, only the remains of the entrance gate and the church on the hill still remain, which still has Portuguese architectural structures for tourists to admire. The top of the hill offers a beautiful view of the surrounding area, along with cool weather. #TravelMalaysia #Malacca #TravelReview
