Avoid Matrouh in the off-season: No sea trips and unruly teenagers

For this destination, I flew back to Cairo from Luxor and then took an 8-hour minibus to Matrouh😫😫. I spent almost a whole day on the road, and when I arrived at my destination, I found that it was full of teenagers with frivolous words and actions, and they made all kinds of obscene gestures towards women😠😠😠. 💔💔This first impression greatly reduced my perception of Matrouh. But fortunately, we met a girl who came to Matrouh alone to open a homestay at the station, and we also traveled with two Chinese people on the minibus. There is strength in numbers, and we dared to wander through the streets and alleys of the city center at 10 pm, under the strange eyes of Matrouh men, and had a local seafood barbecue supper. During our time in Matrouh, the homestay girl gave us a lot of help. We learned something about Matrouh after October from her. Off-season status💔💔 →The off-season in Matrouh begins every year after October 1. →Once the off-season arrives, sea trips are not available. →KFC and McDonald's in the town center are closed. McDonald's is even directly demolished and will be rebuilt and reopened next year during the tourist season. 😭😭We just left Luxor and couldn't adapt to the desolation of Matrouh and the people's Buddhist attitude towards making money. Suddenly, I missed the small vendors in Luxor, who were ready to prepare a carriage for you at 9 pm and make money at any time. Trip itinerary👣👣: In the off-season, the only thing to do in Matrouh is to check in at various popular beaches. You must charter a car to check in at the popular beaches because the popular attractions are far from the city center, so it is basically impossible to get a car back to the city center. We chartered a car for a half-day tour - 450 EGP. 🏠Accommodation: 💢💢I don't recommend the hotel I stayed at this time. Because I only stayed for one night, and it was difficult to get an extra bottle of mineral water. 💞Breakfast is a la carte and not as rich as other hotels. During my stay, I could clearly feel that there were not many guests, and there were only two tables for breakfast. There were almost no people at the sea activities at the entrance. 🚫The glass window was very dirty, and I couldn't see the sea outside. 💖💖💞Travel experience: As recommended online, the sea in Matrouh is really blue. There is a lot of garbage on the shore, but the sea is still clear and transparent. The natural palette, the blue that you can't take your eyes off.
