Explore the natural environment of the northern San Francisco Bay Area. Mill Valley is a refreshing town hidden in Marin County, about 40 minutes drive from San Francisco. After getting off the 101 entrance, you can walk along the narrow path into an extremely primitive forest landscape. Especially on rainy days, the oak trees form a formation, as if you have entered an ancient green ferry. Mill Valley Library is hidden among the redwood trees, and the oversized floor-to-ceiling windows show the forest water color outside, just like stepping into a mysterious villa in a fairy tale. Pick up a book and sit by the floor-to-ceiling window, which is particularly pleasant, especially on a mild winter day. Behind the library is Old Mill Park, which is home to a number of redwood trees that resemble a carbon-green ocean. This is the starting point of the Dipsea Trail. The initial section is made up of alternating stone and wooden steps. Going up along the river, you will reach a wide lawn. The latter part of the route is a forest section with a large concentration of redwood trees. There are many small rivers along the way, giving people the feeling of living in the embrace of nature. This route is similar to Muir Woods, but it is free and does not require reservations. Parking is convenient and it is highly recommended.
